The Seven Gifts of Nauryz Fairy Tale

The Seven Gifts of Nauryz Fairy Tale

In a distant steppe, there was a small village surrounded by blooming gardens and endless green meadows. Every year, when winter receded and spring arrived, the villagers eagerly awaited the most important celebration – Nauryz. It was a time when nature awakened, the sun shone brighter, and people’s hearts filled with joy. In this village lived a young girl named Alia. She always looked forward to Nauryz because, from early morning, festivities began: horse races, folk dances, traditional songs, and delicious meals. But most of all, Alia loved one special tradition – the preparation of Nauryz-koje, a sacred soup made of seven ingredients symbolizing abundance and prosperity. This year, Alia’s grandmother assigned her a special task: to collect seven magical ingredients for the Nauryz-koje. However, each one could only be obtained by performing small acts of kindness.First, Alia went to the river, where an old turtle lived. The turtle was struggling because its home was polluted with trash. Alia cleaned the river, and as a reward, she received the first ingredient – pure water. Then, she visited an old wise man who had not left his yurt for many years. She listened to his stories and helped light a fire in his hearth. Grateful, the wise man gave her a handful of wheat – a symbol of abundance...Then, Alia helped a shepherd gather his scattered lambs, and in gratitude, he gave her fresh milk – the third ingredient. In the field, she found a bee trapped in the grass and gently set it free. The bee gifted her honey – a symbol of sweetness in life.At the market, Alia assisted a woman carrying heavy baskets, who in return gave her butter – a symbol of warmth and comfort. Later, she helped her friend repair a broken cart, and he shared some rice with her. The final ingredient, salt, was given to her by her grandmother as a reward for her kindness. With all the ingredients collected, Alia returned home, and her grandmother prepared the fragrant Nauryz-koje. The entire village gathered around the great dastarkhan, celebrating spring, friendship, and generosity. Alia realized that Nauryz was not just a holiday but a time when kindness and care brought happiness to everyone.Since then, every Nauryz, the villagers would retell this story, teaching children that the most important things in life are doing good deeds and sharing the warmth of one's heart.
