Aybolit Fairy Tale

Kind doctor Aibolit!

Sitting under the tree.

The Cow comes to get treated,

the Wolf and the Fox,

the Beetle and the Worm, and the Bear,

There’s even a Hedgehog!

The kind doctor Aibolit treats them all!

 The Fox came to Aibolit:

«Oh, a mosquito stung me!»

The Dog also came to Aibolit:

«A rooster pecked me!»

The Rabbit came running, shouting:

«Oh, oh! A tram hit my child!

My naughty son,

was knocked down by a tram!

Did it break his leg?

He'll see what trouble it brings.

He can’t stay still,

 even when told not to be naughty!»

Aibolit said:

«Don't worry! Don’t lose your patience!

Bring him here,

Don't panic for nothing.

I will give him another leg».

The Rabbit brought him,

the one his mother spoke of.

He came in bad shape,

and woke up completely healthy!

The Rabbit hopped away,

dancing out of joy.

Smiling, he said:

«Thank you so much, Aibolit!»

The Wolf came trembling,

Now he needs attention..

«Here’s a telegram from my friend Hippopotamus!»

«Come quickly, doctor,

There’s chaos in Africa.

The children are sick,

You must give them medicine!»

Aibolit ran off,

There’s no time to delay.

He passed through forests and groves,

Crossed over high mountains.

He even crossed the sea,

and reached the ocean.

Kind Aibolit,

If you want to be, be brave! 

A giant bird flies in,

and Aibolit sits on it.

«Greetings to you, Africa!»

Aibolit says.

He began to work calmly,

not rushing, not panicking.

The animals that had recovered,

started hopping away.

For ten days Aibolit,

treated them without sleeping.

He asks everyone:

«Well, my brave one, how are you?» 

Limpopo! Limpopo!

The animals recovered,

and everyone was amazed.

Limpopo! Limpopo!

Here’s Hippo, here’s Popo,

Hippo-Popo, Hippo-Popo!

This is Hippopotamus.

He comes from Zanzibar,

He goes to Kilimanjaro.

He sings happily:

«Thank you, Aibolit!»
