A penny earned through hard work. Fairy Tale

There was a spoiled son. He was very lazy. Nevertheless, his father took care of him and dressed him well. Eventually, old age overcame him, and he told his sick wife:

– I will give all my possessions that I've accumulated throughout my life to someone else. I will leave nothing for my son. He is lazy.

– Stay in one place until evening, – she tells her son. – Come home after it gets dark. Then say, "I earned this with my hard work," and give it to your father.

The son follows his mother's advice. He throws the gold into the burning stove and says:

– This is not money you earned through hard work, – the old man replies.

The son smiles and laughs, then leaves without saying a word.

Knowing that her trick wouldn't work, the mother advises:

– It seems we can't fool your father, my son. Instead, earn the money through work, – she advises him.

Taking his mother's advice, the boy works for a week. He gives the coins he earned to his father.

The old man again throws the gold into the fire and says:

– No, this is also not money you earned through hard work.

The son, unable to bear it, pulls the money out of the fire with his bare hands and shouts:

– Father, I found this coin after a week of hard work. You throw it into the fire. What is this about? – he exclaims.

Then the father stands up and says:
– You have indeed earned this money with your own hard work, my son. I see that now, – he replies.
