Little Red Riding Hood Fairy Tale
Once upon a time, there was a girl who was very much loved by her mother. She was also her grandmother’s favorite granddaughter. One day, her grandmother gifted her a red hood for her birthday. The girl wore the gift all the time, and since then, the neighbors started calling her "Red Riding Hood."
One day, her mother baked some pastries and said to her, "My dear, take this pastry and a jar of butter to your grandmother and check on her."
Red Riding Hood replied, "Okay, mom, I will take them," and she took the basket filled with pastries and butter. Being obedient, Red Riding Hood set off for her grandmother’s house. To reach her grandmother's village, she had to pass through the forest. Red Riding Hood did not realize how dangerous it was to walk alone in the woods. So, she sang songs, picked flowers, and walked leisurely.
Suddenly, a wolf appeared in front of her. "Where are you going, Red Riding Hood?" asked the wolf, who wanted to eat her.
"I’m going to my grandmother’s house to bring her the pastry my mother baked and a jar of butter," the girl said. Red Riding Hood was unaware of the wolf's wicked intentions.
"And where does your grandmother live?" the wolf asked.
"My grandmother? She lives in the village beyond the forest, next to the mill at the edge of the village, in the first house by the mill," Red Riding Hood replied, telling the wolf exactly where her grandmother lived. At that moment, some woodcutters were chopping wood nearby. Hearing their voices, the wolf decided not to harm the girl. Knowing where Red Riding Hood’s grandmother lived, the wolf planned to eat her grandmother first.
"Alright, I’ll go with you to the village and check on your grandmother. Let’s have a race and see who gets to her first! You take this path, and I will take that one," the wolf suggested, choosing the quickest route to the village for himself.
Accepting the wolf's proposal, Red Riding Hood took the longer route, stopping to pick flowers along the way. Meanwhile, the wolf hurried straight to the village. He arrived early at the grandmother’s house and knocked on the door.
"Knock, knock!"
"Who is it?" the grandmother asked.
The wolf, trying to disguise his voice, said, "It's me, your granddaughter Red Riding Hood. I’ve come to visit you. I brought you some pastries and a jar of butter."
At that moment, the sick grandmother thought it was truly her granddaughter and said, "My dear girl, pull the string next to the latch, and the door will open." The wolf pulled the string, and the door opened. The hungry wolf rushed in, pounced on the grandmother, and swallowed her whole.
Then, he closed the door, put on the grandmother's cap, donned her glasses, and lay down in her bed, waiting for Red Riding Hood to arrive. Shortly after, Red Riding Hood knocked on the door.
"Knock, knock!"
"Who is it?" the wolf asked in a deep voice, having just eaten.
Hearing the growling voice, Red Riding Hood felt scared. Then she thought, "Maybe my grandmother has caught a cold, which is why her voice sounds different."
"It’s me, your granddaughter Red Riding Hood! My mother sent me to you. I brought you pastries and a jar of butter," she said. The wolf, still trying to change his voice, said in a thin voice, "Pull the string next to the latch, my dear, and the door will open." Red Riding Hood pulled the string, the door opened, and she entered.
The wolf, covered with a blanket, said to her, "My dear, place the basket on the table and come sit beside me." Red Riding Hood placed the basket filled with pastries and butter on the table and approached the wolf.
"Perhaps you are tired from your journey, come lie down next to me," said the wolf. Thinking it was her grandmother, Red Riding Hood lay down beside the wolf and asked, "Grandmother, why are your hands so big?"
"To hold you tightly, my dear."
"Grandmother, why are your ears so big?"
"To hear you well, my dear."
"Grandmother, why are your eyes so big?"
"To see you well, my dear. And grandmother, why are your teeth so big?"
"To eat you faster, my dear!" With that, the wolf pounced on Red Riding Hood and swallowed her whole, along with her red hood and shoes. The poor girl didn’t even have time to scream. However, at that very moment, a woodcutter was passing by the house. Hearing the wolf’s voice, he looked through the window. Inside, he saw the wolf lying in bed, unable to move due to his full belly. Understanding what had happened, the woodcutter quickly captured the beast and cut open its belly.
Out came Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, safe and sound. The woodcutter sewed the wolf’s belly back up and let him go.
Red Riding Hood and her grandmother expressed their gratitude to the woodcutter. The grandmother brewed tea, took out the pastries from the basket, and set the table. The three of them enjoyed their tea together, chatting and sharing stories about how they dealt with the wolf.
