Aldar Kose and Jinishkebiz Fairy Tale

Aldar Kose and Jinishkebiz Fairy Tale

Aldar Kose was grazing the rich man's sheep. While grazing, one day he decided to leave. The rich man had no sons. He stuffed hot bread into his bosom and was on his way to the sheep when Aldar Kose came up to him:

— Rich man, let me embrace you, — he said, approaching the rich man. Saying "goodbye" to the rich man, they embraced. If the hot bread in his bosom burned him, the rich man threw the bread away, saying:

— Oh, cursed dog, — and Aldar Kose said:

— Rather than let the dog eat it, I will eat it, — and right there he took the bread and ate it.

The rich man had three daughters. The eldest was named Juyanbiz, the middle one was named Ortanshibiz, and the youngest was named Jinishkebiz. Especially, the youngest daughter was beautiful. Aldar Kose told the rich man.

— Rich man, rich man, could you spare your Jinishkebiz for a moment? I want to sew my boots, — he said.

The rich man replied:

— If you go home, my wife will give it to you, — he said. Aldar Kose went home and told his wife:

— The rich man said to take Jinishkebiz for me, — he said. When his wife said, "I won't give her," Aldar Kose shouted at the rich man. Then the rich man, angry, told his wife:

— Give her, — he said. The wife sent Jinishkebiz to Aldar Kose. As Aldar Kose was bringing Jinishkebiz back, he saw a hound herding sheep. Aldar Kose spoke to the hound.

— My hound, my hound, shall I let your head rest? — he asked. The hound replied:

— Sure, — it said.

— Bring your blue ram, — he said, and after slaughtering the ram, he wrapped its belly and entrails around the hound's head:

— Now you go down into this well and warm yourself. Tie a goat next to you. When that goat bleats, your hound will run away, — he said, and tied the goat and left. It turned out that the sheep had wandered off. As Aldar Kose was walking with Jinishkebiz, he saw an old man herding two horses. He approached the old man and said:

— Old man, I just ate at your house. Your wife is preparing your meal and told me, "You keep herding," — he said. The old man, believing him, went home, while Aldar Kose cut off the tail of the ox, stuck it in the ground, and took the two oxen under the same ridge with Jinishkebiz, shouting at the old man.

— Old man, old man, your ox has gone into the ground, — he shouted. When the old man came and pulled the tail, Aldar Kose said, "It will come off, don’t pull," but the old man did not listen and pulled it off.

— See, I told you not to pull, and you did.

The old man dug and dug but could not find it, so he went home.

Aldar Kose took Jinishkebiz and the two oxen and set off on his way.
