One day, Khoja Nasir had a dispute with a wealthy man and decided to take his complaint to the Khan. The wealthy man, sensing that the Khan would side with him after offering a gift, went to the Khan. Khoja, however, secretly hid a large stone in his robe. After the Khan had listened to both sides of the complaint and was about to pass judgment, Khoja cleared his throat. The Khan turned and looked at Khoja’s face. At that moment, Khoja pointed with his fist to his robe. The Khan's eyes fell on Khoja’s robe, which appeared quite bulky and protruding. The Khan thought that Khoja must be hiding a lot of gold there. "If you speak in my favor, I will give you this gold," he likely assumed. Therefore, the Khan weighed his words carefully and ruled in favor of Khoja. The wealthy man, unhappy with the judgment, angrily left. After he departed, the Khan smiled and called Khoja over:
- Well, Khoja, you must be pleased. I defeated the rich man for you. Now give me the gold from your robe! - he said.
- Your Excellency, I never showed you any gold. What’s in my robe is not gold, but a stone, - Khoja replied, as he pulled the stone out of his robe and placed it before the Khan.
- When you were asking for judgment, you squinted your eyes and showed me your robe. What did that mean? - the Khan asked.
- Oh, Your Excellency! What I meant by showing my robe was: "Khan, rule justly, or I will strike you with this stone!" - Khoja explained.
