Why are dogs and cats enemies? Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a dog and a cat lived very harmoniously together. Both were adopted by a person and kept in his home.

One day, the gold that a man had stored in a greasy leather bag went missing. No matter how much he searched, he couldn't find it. The man, having lost his gold, became distraught and started to wither away. What little he had to eat and drink was no longer enough. Seeing this, the dog and the cat felt very sad and decided to search for their owner's lost gold. They roamed around, leaving no stone unturned. Eventually, exhausted, they returned home.

As the dog and cat walked home, disheartened and silent, they suddenly caught a whiff of their owner's greasy bag, which made their noses twitch. Overjoyed, the dog whimpered, and the cat meowed.

The dog started to run around, sniffing, and eventually began to dig at the entrance of a mouse hole. The cat, filled with excitement, watched carefully. After much effort, when the dog reached the bottom of the mouse hole, he found the bag of gold that the mouse had hidden away.

The dog exclaimed:

— "Did you see this?" and tossed the gold in front of the cat. In that moment, the cat, eager to impress their owner, dashed away with the gold before the dog could react. The cat leaped across the rooftops of the houses and reached their owner, dropping the gold at his feet. Seeing this, the owner was overjoyed. He embraced the cat and started to pet it. Just then, the dog, covered in sweat and in a disheveled state, arrived. Upon arriving, he curled up to his owner’s feet and whimpered affectionately. Confused, the owner kicked the dog away, scolding him. Angered by the mistreatment, the dog lashed out at the cat. The owner intervened, barely managing to separate the two, and took the cat home. From that day on, the owner never allowed the dog back into the house.

And so, since that time, the dog and cat have remained at odds with each other. The cat's animosity towards mice also began from that day.
