Could it be a wolf that’s been watching me! — he panicked and ran away again. He ran and ran, and finally paused for a moment to catch his breath.
Why am I so unfortunate? No one is afraid of me, yet I am scared of everyone! Poor me, I’d rather drown in this sorrow than live like this, — he lamented. As he made his way to the river, he saw a frog sitting on the bank. The moment the frog saw the gray rabbit, it jumped into the water in a panic. Seeing this, the rabbit stopped and, astonished, said to himself:
— Why should I drown? There are others who are even more afraid of me! — and he changed his mind.
