How old is your child?
One-year-olds listen to the melody of speech, repeated sounds and a warm voice. These are the shortest, simplest tales, 2–3 minutes long.
At this age children love short, repetitive tales about animals. Rhymes with a tune and familiar characters are the best choice.
Tip for parents: Don't be afraid to read the same tale over and over — repetition builds vocabulary.
